WRAP-AROUND SERVICES PROGRAM (Juvenile Family Crisis Intervention Services)

Description of Services:
Provides more intensive in-home counseling and case management services to families referred by the Family Crisis Intervention Program. Families who are involved with the Crisis Program and need or desire more intensive, in-home services allow a skilled counselor to visit their home and "wrap services around" the entire family to meet their comprehensive needs and build on their unique strengths. This program assists families within multiple life domains (such as education, health and safety) to access help from multiple systems and learn to cope more effectively as a family unit. The result of this "wrap-around" model is the benefit of the entire family, and ultimately the youth.
Client Eligibility:
Children and their families referred by the Family Crisis Intervention Unit.

Nearly 50 families benefited from MHA’s wrap around services this year.

Monmouth County Youth Services Commission funds MHA to provide this service.

WRAP-AROUND SERVICES PROGRAM

Description of Services:
This program services children with mental health problems and their families referred by the NJ Department of Children and Families, Division of Youth and Family Services. Families are served using a ‘wrap-around’ model that wraps services around the families to meet a variety of needs and coordinate multiple service providers. They are provided intensive case management to ensure and support permanency, safety and well - being of children. MHA provides these services in the home of the family and works collaboratively with the NJ Department of Children and Families and other providers on behalf of NJ Department of Children and Families. This wrap-around program contracts with counselors in the community to provide therapeutic services as needed.
Client Eligibility:
Children and their families referred by the Division of Youth and Family Services.
Level of Service:
38 families were served with approximately 1655 hours of direct contact to improve family stability.
Funding Source:
Monmouth County Department of Human Services funds MHA to provide this service to its consumers.
INTENSIVE IN-COMMUNITY SERVICES (IICS)

Description of Services:
Provides FREE in-home individual and family therapy for children. The purpose of the intervention is to strengthen the family, to provide stability and to preserve the family unit in the community. This can be achieved as children receive individualized care planning and support with their families.
The goal of the program is to prevent children with emotional challenges from being placed outside their home, either in a hospital or another substitute care-giving arrangement.
Client Eligibility:
Any family in the state of New Jersey is eligible. To receive the FREE service call 1-877-652-7624 and request MHA as your service provider. The family will then obtain approval thru The Contracted System Administrator - PerformCare. Referrals may also come from Care Management Organizations (CMO) or Youth Case Management (YCM), also DCBHS service providers. IIC services are only provided in conjunction with the CSA or other authorized agents of the Division of Child Behavioral Health Services System,(DCBHS).

74 Families were provided 966 hours of intensive therapy in their homes and community to help improve children's outcomes.

Description of Services:
Time to Grow is an early intervention program, in collaboration with the Keansburg Middle and High Schools that focuses on healthy relationships and pregnancy prevention.
MHA provides individual and group counseling to Keansburg students in their schools. Many concepts necessary for the healthy development of youth are emphasized such as the value of education, self-respect, goal-setting, personal responsibility, the ability to say "NO", and identification of healthy relationships. In addition, case management services assist teens and their families with obtaining necessary community services. Individual counseling services address topics not appropriate for a group setting, assist with crisis intervention, and help individuals achieve personal goals.
Client Eligibility:
Middle School and High School students of the Keansburg school system.

Our MHA staff successfully interacted with over 65 young teens through this program this year providing 289 hours of group and individual counseling.

This program is funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Prevention and Community Partnerships.
GRANDVIEW SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAM

Description of Services:
Grandview Social Services is a program that serves the residents of the Grandview Apartments in Keansburg. This program offers a broad array of community development, social service and recreational services to the residents of this large affordable housing complex.
Services include counseling and case management, as well as prevention and enrichment activities that focus on children’s interpersonal and educational needs.
Participants who were surveyed report that they learned "how to share, how to assist younger residents, how to solve problems and how to control their anger". Children also receive assistance with using computers, safe use of the internet, and completion of homework. MHA allocates a full time staff position to work with and support the Grandview residents.
Client Eligibility:
Any resident of the Grandview Apartments in Keansburg.
Level of Service:
This free service helped improve the quality of life for 101 adults and 50 children.

RED BANK RESOURCE NETWORK (RBRN)

Description of Services:
A program of the Mental Health Association, Family Resource Network in Red Bank provides information and referral, creates linkages with vital social services, offers guidance and advocacy, and supports the development of a community action group.
The Red Bank Resource Network is located at 101-103 Suite B Shrewsbury Avenue,in Red Bank offering walk-in hours.
Client Eligibility:
Any resident of Red Bank, NJ area is eligible.
Funding Source:
RBRN is funded by foundations and grants.
